A basic functionality of all SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateways is domain encryption. In this type of encryption, a public S/MIME (or OpenPGP) key which is valid for the entire email domain is exchanged manually between the communication partners. This method thus also works with gateways of other manufacturers, if they support the process. Thus, emails between these email domains can also be exchanged encrypted without the corresponding personal key material of the individual users.
Every domain encryption set up on the SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway is generally available to all users, regardless of whether they are created as users on the appliance or not. This means that the content of the entire email traffic between two domains is protected.
This encryption technology is an integral part of the SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway basic licence and is thus available to all senders. No user licence is required for this purpose.
On our YouTube channel an explanatory video for the domain encryption function process can be found.
