The cluster and load balancing functionality is integrated into the basic system of the SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway. With just a few steps, a cluster can be built between two or more devices, and, if necessary, across different sites. All system-relevant data (system parameters, user data and key material) are synchronised across all systems. Since the SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway only stores and retains emails for the duration of their processing, a synchronisation of user data (emails) is not required. This also shows the economical handling of system resources (bandwidth).

The systems are designed in such a way that, in the event of a total failure of a system or, if applicable, of an entire location, the remaining systems are able to maintain operation without any issues, even across locations. As soon as regular operation has been resumed, all systems will be automatically synchronised again.
