The system is automatically backed up daily. Since no user data (emails) is stored on the SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway, the content of the backup is restricted to the configuration and key material exclusively. The data volume of this backup therefore remains extremely low, even after years of operating the SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway. The backup file is automatically encrypted and sent to the backup operators via email once a day.
Alternatively, the backup can also be downloaded (automatically).
Thanks to the small size, in the event of a disaster, the full functionality of the system can be restored within a very short period of time. The system is restored by the import of the backup file alone. After the SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway restored in this way is restarted, it is available again with all functions.
A cluster machine is restored automatically by replication, by the integration of the new machine into the existing cluster.
