The system regularly searches for automatic version updates and patches. If an update is available, this is displayed in the administration interface. Additionally, the administrator will be notified via email. The administrator decides whether they just want to download the update and install it with the next system start or install it immediately.
Since the SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway is firmware, every update entails the replacement of the entire core system. This prevents compatibility problems between individual required components, e.g. databases and modules, and makes the system testable and reproducible.
Naturally, the configuration and the key material are maintained during the update process.
In the cluster operation, the individual cluster partners can be updated sequentially and thus without interrupting the email traffic.
