LFT can be operated as a standalone solution as well as an add-on to the secure email solution. Thus, LFT licences can be acquired in different quantities in addition to the signature and encryption licences. LFT licences are concurrent licences. This means that an LFT licence is released after 30 days of inactivity and can then be used by another user. LFT licences are used exclusively for internal users sending or receiving an LFT message.

If no licences are free and available, an oversized email is sent as a "normal" SMTP email.
