Existing user/own certificates can be transferred to seppmail.cloud for import. This way, certificates that are still valid can continue to be used, which can reduce costs at the beginning.
However, care should be taken that existing contracts with a certificate issuer should be terminated in time to avoid an unwanted extension. Depending on the form of the contract, existing certificates will be revoked by the issuer in the event of termination of the contract.
seppmail.cloud automatically takes care of the renewal or replacement of expired or revoked certificates. If the issuer revokes certificates "suddenly" (for example in the case of a contract termination), the SEPPmail support can manually have new certificates issued for the affected users at an early stage.
The following import options are available:
- When migrating from an on-premise appliance, you can use the export function of the on-premise appliance and import this data using the self-service import function of seppmail.cloud.
- For other data sources, you can first create the users and then import the certificates via the REST API.
- Alternatively, you can send us the certificates via a support request. Please combine all certificates to be imported into a .zip archive. The certificates should be in .pfx format with a uniform password for all files.
