LFT offers external senders two options for the delivery of large files:

1.The recipient accesses a GINA message transmitted to them or a password-protected LFT message and uses the reply function in the GINA web interface. This means that an internal employee of the company could authorise the corresponding external sender via an invitation email by means of the GINA technology to deliver large data volumes.

2.The SEPPmail operator provides the GINA self-registration function. It stands to reason that, in this case, a link to the GINA web interface of the corresponding company should be published on their website. After successful registration, the external sender is able to send messages via the GINA web interface, including such with large attachments, to recipients of the internal email domains.

Subsequently, the internal recipient receives the LFT notification email already discussed. Since, for this process, internal encryption is not required in most cases, the unencrypted version can already be selected globally for incoming LFT messages so that the password entry upon opening the HTML container for accessing the GINA web interface can be omitted.

If password protection for internal LFT messages is desired nonetheless, this can be done by using the corresponding network (mostly Windows) passwords of the users. For this purpose, an integration of the SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway to an external LDAP directory – for Windows the Active Directory – is possible.

NOTE:

For instance, LFT in connection with the self-registration process offers the option of receiving applications and communicating with applicants in a manner that is compliant with the provisions of the GDPR. Additionally, this prevents the infection with malware.
