IME 2.0 expands the functional scope by a content-encrypted communication from the email client up to the SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway.
Here,
•a carrier email with configurable IME recipient address is created
•the actual email is transmitted in an encrypted manner as an attachment to the carrier email up to the SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway
The carrier email guarantees that the header and thus routing information cannot be manipulated on the transmission path.
•the email is encrypted and delivered via the SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway using the most suitable procedure for the recipient - no matter if internal or external (see Encryption Hierarchy).
