Initial situation:
The SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway is configured in such a way that, after checking an S/MIME signature, it does not remove it.
Internal email recipients will partially receive their emails as attachments to an empty carrier email.
Question:
Why do I receive emails as attachments of an empty carrier email in some cases?
Cause:
The subsequent email system, which is generally the internal groupware server, tries to attach a disclaimer or footer to the email, e.g. "Please check whether this email really has to be printed!".
Here, the email system notices that the email coming from the SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway has an S/MIME signature. Since this signature would be destroyed by attaching the disclaimer, the third-party manufacturer system packs the entire email as an attachment into a carrier email, to which the disclaimer is then added.
Solution:
1.Deactivate the attachment of a disclaimer with incoming emails.
2.Remove successfully checked signatures in the SEPPmail configuration (remove signature if S/MIME signature check succeeds).
