Administrative tasks have been minimised through the effective design of the SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway. However, if any tasks are required in spite of this, the members of the groups admin and statisticsadmin (see Groups) will be informed by this. Furthermore, notifications regarding system problems are sent via a watchdog message to the Postmaster address (see Mail System SMTP settings).

 

Depending on the configuration of the system, the administrative tasks can be limited to the following activities:

•Intervention in the event of problems (watchdog message)
 

•Updating the appliance (see Administration Update)
 

•Renewal of the SSL certificate upon expiry (see SSL)
 

•Classification of the trustworthiness of X.509 Root Certificates

 

If the creation of users (see Mail Processing Ruleset generator User creation) as well as the receipt of certificates (see Mail Processing Ruleset generator Key generation) are not automated, this will require additional tasks to be carried out in this respect.
