Predefined replacements  – provided they are complete ruleset sections – are initially still maintained for compatibility reasons; however, as of version 9.0, they are successively being replaced by macros and/or predefined macros.

That is, predefined placeholders should – as far as possible –

a)no longer be used when creating new Custom commands.

b)be removed from existing Custom commands and replaced by the predefined macros.

to maintain compatibility with new versions.

Predefined placeholders are used for inserting template snippets. At each position in the ruleset where this placeholder appears, the corresponding snippet is inserted.

Here, in particular, variable values from the Ruleset generator (of the menu Mail Processing) are applied.

This allows the ruleset programming to react dynamically to changes in variable values, thus simplifying, shortening and clarifying the programming process.

The placeholders listed here are only resolved accordingly in the Custom commands of the Ruleset generator, with the exception of the Custom macros and commands for all e-mails BEFORE processing:!

If a complete ruleset is created in an external editor and then uploaded via the button uploadUpload Ruleset of the section SMTP Ruleset, these placeholders cannot be interpreted.
