Initial situation:
The customer wishes to carry out queries and management processes, such as the on- or off-boarding of users, on the SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway via third-party systems.
Question:
Is there a possibility of administering the SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway externally and how is this realised?
Answer:
(omitted in 12.1.0)
Up until now, two APIs were available for this on the SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway . A description of the APIs as well as PowerShell modules for accessing these APIs are available on GitHub (https://github.com/seppmail/SEPPmailAPI or https://github.com/seppmail/SEPPmailLegacy).
(new in 12.1.0)
As of version 12.1.0 of the SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway, all functions have been combined in the SEPPmailAPI, for which a PowerShell module is also provided (if applicable, see also https://github.com/seppmail/SEPPmailAPI). More information on the API functions can be found at https://docs.seppmail.com/api and/or https://api.seppmail.com/#/.
To activate the API access to the SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway, under System in the Advanced View under RestAPI first tick HTTPS port and, if needed, adapt the HTTPS Port for the API access to the local infrastructure.
The authentication of the API accesses requires a corresponding token, which can be generated and authorised for the desired accesses in the New API Token section.
