Initial situation:

A GINA message is to be read on an iOS-based device. However, opening the GINA attachments fails both with and without installed SEPPmail app. After confirming the message that appears with “OK”, the loading process seems to start but nothing happens.

 

Question:

How can the GINA attachment be opened?

 

Cause:

There is no valid certificate available for the GINA website on the SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway. This can be checked by opening the GINA website  – for example https://securemail.mycompany.tld/web.app – with a normal browser on the iOS device.

 

Solution:

Embedding a valid certificate under SSL and/or, if Use virtual hosting is used when operating several GINA websites, embedding a valid SSL certificate for each GINA domain via SSL certificate.
