Initial situation:

The recipient of a GINA message, when attempting to open the "secure-email.html", instead receives the notification

You have tried to open the secure email in the preview of your email client. Please open the attachment "secure-email.html" by double-clicking it and then click on  "OK".

However, the file "secure-email.html" has already been opened in the browser via double-click.

Question:

What is the cause of the message, despite the correct procedure?

Answer:

The system assumption that the file "secure-email.html" has been opened in the "preview mode" is based on the fact that the Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) included in the "secure-email.html" could not be loaded. Aside of opening the file in the preview of your email client, the following alternatives could cause also this:

the SSL certificate of the GINA Domain has expired (see also SSLand/or SSL Certificate) and must be renewed by the operator of the SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway of the sender.

CSS reloading is prevented by a protection component (for example, firewall, proxy or antispam/antivirus) on the recipient side through

oblocking of protocols

otriggering of cookie checks

ocommenting out / rewriting individual lines from the "secure-email.html"
