Initial situation:

In the SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway in the Managed PKI interface (see also MPKI), the automatic receipt of S/MIME certificates from the provider QuoVadis /Trustlink (see also QUOVADIS) is set up.

When attempting to receive certificates (see also User 'user@domain.tld' S/MIME Generate key and QuoVadis certificate...), the following notification is displayed

Could not issue QuoVadis certificate: error while posting PKCS10: Unexpected error occurred: null (500)

 

Possible reason:

The affected email domain (Managed domain) has not been verified yet or must be re-certified.

 

Solution:

(Re-)certify the email domain.

A description of how the certification process works can be obtained from the certificate provider (QuoVadis).
