The delivery of outgoing emails to the Internet is generally controlled globally under Mail System Outgoing server. If the SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway is to send out emails directly to external email recipients in the Internet, the option Use built-in mail transport agent is to be selected. If they are to be forwarded to an upstream system, the option Use the following SMTP server is to be selected. Subsequently, under Server name, the corresponding name or the IP address of this system is to be entered. If this system requires an authentication, the corresponding user name is to be entered under User ID, while the password is to be entered under Password.

When using the setting Use built-in mail transport agent, it is highly recommended to license and activate the optional Protection Pack unless an external antispam service is installed for the incoming email traffic. Failure to do so may result in considerable impairments, including the loss of the email flow through SPAM attacks (see also Small Environments).
