anchor link Note:

By reading information from LDAP directories, e.g. the Microsoft Active Directory (AD) by means of ldap_read(), and the subsequent use of the variables this created in the disclaimer text (see Disclaimer as HTML and/or Disclaimer as Text), not only a generally valid (company) disclaimer is possible, but also a footer personalised for each sender.

In particular, this is possible since a disclaimer added using the SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway is also correctly positioned when replying, i.e. below the reply and not at the end of the email.

Parameters

Description

anchor link Name

Specifies the name of the disclaimer. This must be unique.

anchor link Advanced

Specifies the formats in which a disclaimer should be available.

anchor link CheckBoxActive Add HTML part

By default, this option is active.

Activates the HTML disclaimer from Disclaimer as HTML in the HTML part of an email.

anchor link CheckBoxActive Add text part

By default, this option is active.

Activates the HTML disclaimer from Disclaimer as Text in the text part of an email.

anchor link CheckBoxInactive Force parts

By default, this option is inactive.

If there is no text or HTML part in the original email to which the disclaimer could be attached, an empty part is created by activating this option.

Generally, this option is only relevant for machine-generated emails in special cases.

anchor link CheckBoxInactive Force UTF-8

By default, this option is inactive.

Enforces the UTF-8 format to avoid possible encoding problems.

empty

anchor link Note:

Generally, Outlook always uses the minimal charset required. For instance, if no umlauts (or other special characters) are present in the email, the charset us-ascii will be used.

Since the SEPPmail Secure E-Mail Gateway keeps its manipulations of emails to a minimum, when using the disclaimer function, any umlauts or special characters contained in the disclaimer would be converted to the already existing charset. Without the setting Force UTF-8, this would lead to an erroneous display of these special characters.

anchor link Section Disclaimer as HTML preview

Displays a preview of the HTML code entered under Disclaimer as HTML.

For newly created templates, the input field already contains a standard code, which includes a German and English standard text. This can be adapted to individual needs or completely replaced.

Files can also be added to the HTML disclaimer as inlines in the code, which can be reached via the Content-ID (see table below).

anchor link Inlines

Files which are to be used in the HTML code of the input field. These can be selected and uploaded via Add. The uploaded files then appear in the table.
