With the Delete expired certificates now button, expired certificates are immediately removed once.

 

anchor link CheckBoxActiveAutomatically purge expired root certificates

By default, this option is active.

By activating this option, the above mentioned clean-up process is executed automatically once a day.

anchor link Revocation

Clicking the Check OCSP/CRL status now button checks the validity of all certificates of the X.509 Root Certificates menu via OCSP (Online Certificate Status Protocol) and/or CRL (Certificate Revocation List) immediately.

 

anchor link CheckBoxInactiveAutomatically check revocation status every day

(new in 12.1)

By default, this setting is inactive.

By activating this option, all certificates contained in X.509 Root Certificates are automatically subjected to a validity check once a day.

(new in 12.0)

Settings regarding the automatic establishment of trust positions of certification authorities

 

anchor link CheckBoxInactiveAutomatically trust new root certificates

By default, this option is active.

By activating this option, certificates which have been imported via IMPORT X.509 ROOT CERTIFICATE(S) are immediately trusted. Thus, these certificates immediately appear in the table of the main menu X.509 Root Certificates in the column Trust state as trusted.

Using this option requires the regular and frequent monitoring of messages with the subject line "New CA added" (see also caadmin)

This is the only way to manually withdraw trust from collected, questionable root certification bodies in a timely manner.

(new in 12.0)

Clicking on Download all X.509 root certificates downloads all certificates listed in the higher-level menu X.509 Root Certificates to a file named smime_root_certificates.zip.

 

The changes made to both sections are saved via the Save button.
